Forty of André Michaux’s plants native to the Carolinas listed by common name. More of Michaux’s Carolina plants lack generally accepted common names than have them. Plants listed are not necessarily the most common species, nor the most widespread, but most are showy, often found in regional wildflower guides, and demonstrate both the breadth of Michaux’s work and his ability to spot rarities.
